What is Dementia Pathfinders?

Dementia Pathfinders works for better quality of life for people with dementia. We want to represent people with dementia in everything we do. Are you a person living with dementia, or have you cared for someone with a diagnosis?

We do this through:

  1. Providing opportunities for learning about dementia for those in caring roles and the general public.
  2. Exploring and publicising the best ways of helping people with dementia and their carers live fulfilling lives.

Why We Need People With Dementia and Family Carers

Dementia Pathfinders provides dementia training in many different settings. We find that the best way to understand the experience of dementia is to listen to the stories of those who have experienced it firsthand.

There are many ways you could help us:

  • You could tell us about your experiences so that others can learn from the good things (and less good) that have happened to you.
  • You could be a guest speaker by talking on one of our courses. We find that hearing from the real experts - people who have lived with dementia - is the most effective way to learn about it.
  • You could help us find out what other people with dementia and their carers think is needed for them to get the most out of life.
  • Would you feel able to share your own family’s story to help improve the lives of others going through similar experiences?
  • Could you spare a few hours every few weeks to join one of our trainers on a course as guest speaker? They would work with you to prepare beforehand and agree questions relevant to the training topic.
